About Phil.
Dr. Phil HÂ says Welcome to My Blog.
A bit about me.
I was born in Guyana, formerly British Guiana. I came to England to study Medicine and graduated at the University of Glasgow Medical School in 1973. In 1977 after acquiring the necessary skills, I accepted a position as second partner in General Practice in Chelmsford, Essex, UK. At one time the two Doctor practice had three branch surgeries. I became senior partner in 1981.
I retired on March 31st, 2004 at the young age of 60. I left General Practice with wide ranging skills. I used acupuncture and hypnotherapy as often as possible in a busy urban practice. Of all the various Alternative Medicine available, these two work. I have personal experience. Fortunately General Practitioners are increasingly accepting this fact. Acupuncture is now in common use in pain clinics. Hypnotherapy is perhaps the most powerful tool at our disposal. It is vastly under used. Through hypnosis, you can tap into the subconscious mind, and steer it in the direction that works for you rather than against you
After a few years in General Practice, I became very disillusioned with the Standard Care of Stress, Anxiety and Depression available under the NHS. I was prescribing drugs for all these condition and often a good long chat produced better results. I decided to find better solutions. I went on a weekend course at Whipps Cross Hospital in London. The Course was Hypnotherapy for Doctors and Dentist. I learnt the basics and developed and perfected my skills by practising on my NHS patients.
At the End of the Course, the Lecturer suggested that we try it on the first patient we saw on Monday. My first patient was a seven year old with a sore throat. Not exactly a good subject. What would her mother think of this loony doc who treated her son with, “Look into my eyes and the pain in your throat will go away.”
In General Practice, it is not always possible to spend a long time addressing Stress, Anxiety and Depression. Sometimes, a GP become pressurised because of the time constraint to prescribe medications.
Now that I have retired, I intend to give quality help to everyone with Stress. Stress comes in various forms and at various times. It is very important, however, to bear in mind that you can do something positive about it. This Blog will provide powerful Tools.
I strongly advise you to download the eBook and Self Help Audio by filling in your first name and email address in the opt in form above.
